Installation Instructions:
Login to Windows as an administrator level account.
Extract the Appicus archive into folder 'C:\appicus'
Double click installAppicus.bat.
If running on Windows Vista or Windows 7 with UAC click continue at the UAC prompt.
Read the license aggreement.
Enter 'y' to confirm your acceptance of the license aggreement.
Enter the desired Windows user to run the applications under. A user is required for Skype to work.
Enter the password for that user. (The password will be stored encrypted.)
Note: If you later change the user's password, you will need to reinstall the service.
If you are running an internet security program such as Commodo Defense, allow all the registry key changes.

Configuration Instructions:

Appicus without stsTrunkBuilder:
Edit appicus.ini to set your preferences.
If using Appicus to run the SipToSis gateway as a service, make sure to set Cmd1 to the proper Skype client/location and Cmd2 to the same java.exe that was authorized in the Skype API.

Appicus with the stsTrunkBuilder:
Edit appicus.ini to set your preferences - only the [Settings] section.
The stsTrunkBuilder for windows 20090820 and later has built in support for Appicus.
Edit the stsTrunkDef.cfg and set:
genAppicusProfile=true
AppicusPath=Set to the Appicus folder
AppicusSkypeStartCmd=skype start command
AppicusJavaCmd=Set to path of your java.exe
Generate your trunks.
Make sure you can start all channels succesfully using the normal start procedure before trying to start it as a service.

Note: You do not need to reinstall the service for configuration changes (Except for login password) - just restart the service.

Starting the service:
You can start the service using any of the following methods.

  • Double click startAppicus.bat

  • If running on Windows Vista or Windows 7 with UAC click continue at the UAC prompt.
  • Start the service from the windows service panel.
  • Reboot your system.
View the appicus.log file or the use the Windows Task Manager to confirm all your programs have been started.

Stopping the service:
You can stop the service using any of the following methods.

  • Double click stopAppicus.bat
    If running on Windows Vista or Windows 7 with UAC click continue at the UAC prompt.
  • Stop the service from the windows service panel.

Restarting the service:
You can restart the service using any of the following methods.

  • Double click restartAppicus.bat
    If running on Windows Vista or Windows 7 with UAC click continue at the UAC prompt.
  • Restart the service from the windows service panel.
  • Reboot your system.

Removal Instructions:
Login to Windows as an administrator level account.
Double click removeAppicus.bat
If running on Windows Vista or Windows 7 with UAC click continue at the UAC prompt.
Enter 'y' to confirm removal.
The service will be stopped and removed.
