AT&T/ATT Wireless Mobile Phone Service Major Features:
I have the AT&T Nation 450 plan for $39.95 plus taxes (roughly $48.00). Other plans are available.

  • 450 anytime minutes
  • 5000 night and weekend minutes
  • Free in network mobile to mobile
  • Free US long distance
  • Rollover minutes
  • No roaming charges

My experience:
I originally signed up with Cingular wireless which was bought by Bellsouth. AT&T then obtained Cingular through the Bellsouth merger. I have had no service issues from the beginning. While they do offer additional services like internet, data and text messaging, I do not use those services. Voice quality is generally good. I used to get some chopping as if there is packet loss on the network. I have not had this problem since AT&T took over. I suspect they have upgraded their network to handle the load. Sometimes a call will drop if I am in a bad location such as inside a mall or go through a tunnel. I don't believe any service can give reliable coverage in those locations. Overall the service is good and reliable.

AT&T/ATT Wireless Mobile Phone Service Pros:

  • Good service coverage area
  • Free in network mobile to mobile calling
  • AT&T gives discounts when bundled with other services
  • Good voice quality
AT&T/ATT Wireless Cell Phone Service Cons:
  • Too expensive
  • Charges extra for data services

AT&T/ATT Wireless Mobile Phone Service Spot Rating:
I would give them 5 spots, but I feel that the pricing is still too high. I want to see sub $30.00 for this amount of minutes. I also want free data and text. Am I dreaming? Maybe, we will see what the future holds - especially as the economy tumbles.
