Insinkerator Evolution Compact Garbage Disposer Major Features:
- 3/4 Horsepower motor
- Galvanized steel grind components and casing
- Dishwasher drain connection
- SoundSeal Technology
My experience:
I bought the Evolution Series Insinkerator Compact garbage disposer to replace the
leaking Insinkerator Badger 5 Garbage Disposal.
After two of those Badger 5's why try another? I tried to get a non Insinkerator brand but the other brands were special order.
I decided on this unit after checking it out at Lowes and the Home Depot and saw that the entire casing is metal instead
of the plastic top casing that the Badger 5 has. Installation was a breeze. It fit perfectly where the Bagder 5 was.
All I had to do was knock out the dishwasher connection plug, hook up the electric and cut the supplied pipe to fit.
I don't like the flimsy drain pipe connection but I guess it's to isolate it for noise purposes.
It will be some time until I know if this is going to be an issue.
I would say it took about 45 minutes to remove the old unit to the finished installation. This included changing out
the old wall switch that was acting up. The unit is pretty quiet. I put a banana peel in and didn't
think it did anything but it had ground it up just fine.
Insinkerator Evolution Series Compact Garbage Disposal Pros:
- Easy installation
- Good Performance
- A lot quieter than the Badger 5
- Comes with needed parts to install
Insinkerator Evolution Compact Garbage Disposer Cons:
- The rubber connection to the drain pipe seems flimsy.
Spot Rating:
I would give it 5 spots if the drain pipe connection was more solid.
