Metro PCS Wireless Mobile Phone Service Major Features:
I have the Metro PCS Smart Phone plan for $50.00+5.00(Unlimited International) plus taxes (roughly $68.00). Other plans are available.
- Unlimited minutes (Local and US long distance)
- Unlimited International to 100 countries
- Unlimited Data and Text messages
My experience:
I switched over from AT&T. I went to one of their many stores and started up new service.
I got a Samsung Finesse smartphone. The port of my old number went smoothly. By the next day, the
number was completely switched over. I have had the service for 3 weeks so far.
Voice quality is generally good. So far, the service is good and reliable.
I sent a picture to my email address and it uploaded at a reasonable rate.
Internet browsing is slow, but may prove useful in a pinch.
I did have some issues for a few days with the Unlimited International. It simply did not work.
It kept saying I had to buy a Metro PCS calling card. After many calls to the store and
one to Metro PCS, I was finally told by the store that there is an issue with Unlimited International
and number ports and a ticket was opened. In two days, the Unlimited International calling started working.
I have had no issues since then. If you need customer service - call a store - the Metro PCS customer service
is terrible.
Metro PCS Wireless Mobile Phone Service Pros:
- Good service coverage area so far (check your coverage needs)
- Unlimited minutes
- Unlimited International to 100 countries
- Unlimited Data and Text messages
- Good voice quality
Metro PCS Cell Phone Service Cons:
- Too expensive
- Internet browsing is slow
Metro PCS Wireless Mobile Phone Service Spot Rating:
I would give them 5 spots, but I feel that the pricing is too high and internet is slow.
