Monster Truck Monster Jam at the Bank Atlantic Center Review

My experience:
I was invited to the Monster Truck by some friends. I took my 4 year old since I know he likes to watch monster truck videos. Without knowing anything I thought it was outdoors, so I was all prepared to swaet like a pig. We were about 10 minutes late getting to the Bank Atlantic Center. There was no waiting at the ticket booth. Unfortunately the tickets cost more at the gate. I paid $36.50 for myself and my son for 4th level seats. As soon as we sat down, we saw one truck and then they went into an intermission for 15 minutes to setup for bikes and motorcycles. Looking around we saw that there were only 5 monster trucks in the entire event. The truck names were Grade Digger, GunSlinger, Blue Thunder, Instigator and El Toro Loco. I think Grave Digger and Blue Thunder were the best of the bunch. It seemed they had much more power than the others and knew how to drive. Not to say the others were horrible, but those two were obviously better. The bike and motorcycle show were quite good. Then we had to wait 5-10 minutes for them to tear down and prepare for the trucks again. Nothing spectactuler happened during the entire show. Some car squashing and doughnuts. The venue is frankly too small. One truck side swiped some parked monster trucks but caused no apparent damage. Since I had previously seen some videos of outdoor events, I was not impressed by the whole thing. My 4 year old son on the other hand loved it so I guess that counts for something.

Monster Jam Bank Atlantic Center Pros:

  • Indoors
  • Air Conditioned
Monster Jam Bank Atlantic Center Cons:
  • Venue too small.
  • Noisier than an outside location would be.

Spot Rating:
The Monster Truck Monster Jam at the Bank Atlantic Center was an OK event. The venue is too small for the trucks.
