Topic: SIP-to-SIP as well as Skype <-> SIP with SiptoSis

Hi,

Would like to check whether SIP-to-SIP as well as Skype <-> SIP connections are possible with SiptoSis without using any PBX server.

Purpose: Would like to dial/receive call from Skype users as well as sip users from same domain (for my case it's iptel.org)

Connection overview:
SIP phone(Grandstream bt200) --register to--> SiptoSis PC (OS Ubuntu 11.04)

SIP phone setting:
userid = skype
sip server = SiptoSis PC's IP:5070

SiptoSis PC:
default
host_port=5070
username=skypests
passwd=someSecretPassword
do_register=no

Skype (incoming + outgoing) to SIP phone --> working

Now, would like to dial/receive SIP calls within iptel.org. Is it possible with siptosisPC to forward this call to iptel.org, without using any PBX server?  Please note that my SIP phone (Grandstream bt200) only supports dialplan prefix, that can be added to each dialed number.

Will be looking forward to any clue to work this out!

Kind regards,
Niharika

Re: SIP-to-SIP as well as Skype <-> SIP with SiptoSis

SipToSis does not support SIP-->SIP. Some have had success registering SipToSis with a SIP provider and receiving/making calls to another SIP account/user.

The reason it does not do this is 911 reliability - people will use it the way you describe, an emergency call becomes necessary and due to some unforseen problem the call can't get through.
